That will be participation in the April 28 Peace Walk in Vancouver which last year drew more than 65,000 people. After the Peace Walk, the focus and energy of all na- tional peace groups will be on the Peace Petition Caravan Campaign and its effort to get Canada declared a nuclear free zone. THE FIRST test of West Vancouver’s anti-noise bylaw — which is aimed primarily at giving police a way of cracking down on noisy par- ties — has resulted in a $500 fine. Christopher Talbot, 18, was found guilty in court in West Vancouver Monday. According to police, A VANCOUVER taxi driver got more than he bargained for when he picked up a fare bound for North Vancouver early this week. The unidentified driver for Advance Cabs picked up the fare in downtown Vancouver and was directed to the park- ing lot of St. Thomas Aquinas. When he arrived, the fare said that he had a gun and demanded the cabbie’s money. The driver threw the money at the robber and then ran from the scene to call police. By the time RCMP arriv- ed, the fare had disappeared A CHARGE of obstructing a police officer has resulted in a $350 fine for a North Van- couver man. Robert Waterworth of 339 East 14th Street was charged with obstruction on August 12, 1982, when RCMP broke up a house party at 247 West Fifth. According to police Water- worth was asked to leave the house on three occasions but kept returning. He was ar- rested with some difficulty and then attempted to escape from the police van.
