There's a brighter future
ahead for a htde Honduras
boy and his family who live
in a tiny adobe house with no
water, electricity or latrine
— thanks to the generosity
of a West Vancouver
couple.

Six-year-old Carlos Javier
was “adopted” recently by
Mr. and Mrs. P. Abraham of
West Van under the Foster
a Plan of Canada.

ach month the Abrahams
are now sending Carlos a
contribution of $19 —
representing more than one
half of tus family’s current
income of about $36 per
month

A very active boy, Carlos
shares his family’s primitive
home with his father (a small
farmer), his mother and a
younger brother and sister
He ts in Grade | at the local
school and 1s reported to be
a good student, with math
his favorite subject.

The $19 a month provides
the family with free medical
and dental care, free
prescriptions, the sustained
guidance and counselling of
social workers and the
benefits of many special
programs
