THE FOLLOWING is a selection
of volunteer opportunities avail-
able through North Shore Com-
munity Services (NSCS).

ZOO volunteers are wanted to
take animals from a children’s zoo
in Vancouver to seniors’ homes
and children’s’ hospitals.. The
hours are from 9 a.m. to noon on
Tuesdays.

FRIENDS for children with
mental handicaps. are needed for
recreational and leisure activities,
especially over the suramer. The
hours are flexible.

A TUTOR and learning thera-
pist is required for a nine-year-
old boy with a learning disability.
Dutics involve helping with exer-
cises for vision and physical coor-
dination, and reading ‘and writing
practice. The hours are'from 1:45
to 3 p.m. three days a week.

YOUTH volunteers are needed
throughout the summer to assist,
in leisure and recreational pro-
grams for special-needs children,
