CAPILANO College will
gain 126 student spaces this
year thanks to a $1.28 mil-
lion funding boost from the
provincial government.

The increased funding is
part of this year’s overall post-_
secondary budget increase of

programs will have an added
800 spaces, and 400 are being
allocated to expand nursing

restructuring grant

BOWEN Island received provincial government support
with a $200,000 municipal restructure assistance grant,
Municipal Affairs Minister Cathy McGregor said recently.
. “This funding will give the island municipality more
_resources to provide support services to its residents,” said
McGregor. “The grant represents the provincial government's ©
commitinent to help Bowen Island build a stronger communi-
ty.’ ”
The municipal restructure assistance grant is unconditional
and is based on $200 per capita. Bowen Island, with a popula-
tion of about 3,000, is BC. 's only incorporated island munici-
