The NSRP’s Community Education Team is once again offering free waste- wise workshops to North Shore schools, including The Garbage Audit for Grades 4 to 7. Students will discover how much garbage their class produces in a day, ina month and in a year, and learn that the 3Rs really make a differ- ence with the help of NSRP staff. With the help of an NSRP facilitator, students learn about the worms, build a worm composter, and rake the “wormkeepers pledge.” A wormkeeper certificate is awarded to cach student, if, after three months, the worms and bin are heaithy and they have helped anoth- er class build a bin, or passed their own along. The NSRP also staffs dis- plays and interactive activi- ties for open houses, offers train-the-trainer workshops, information sessions for adults and presentations.
