Meyer, Durwood break track records

the 29th running of the North
Shore high school track and field
meet Thursday at Swangard
Stadium.

| Sentinel won the overall team
aggregate for the fourth year in a
row with 923 points. West Van-
couver, improving greatly from its
. eighth place finish of a year ago,
1 ‘ rose to second at 745. The 178-
point margin of victory was the
smallest since 1984, Handsworth,
moving up from sixth in 1988,

scored 677 points.
Other strong team performances

- came from St. Thomas Aquinas,

Hillside and Brackendale.

La Meyer, who won the senior
boys’ aggregate with three individ-
ual firsts in addition to two relay
wins, long jumped 6.96m (22°10)
to erase Peter Nilsson’s 1979 mark
of 6.46m.

in the 110m hurdles (15.63) and the
