QUESTION: At the time of
the recent Royal Tour,
Prime Minister Trudeau
spoke to and discussed with
the students in a local high
school. One student queried
him about what he planned
to do to gain more friendship
and support in the west. This
is not a quote of his
response, but, in effect, he
said he was not going to do
anything special to win
western friends. Then he
offered a bit of his
philosophy, pointing out that
he felt a person has to do
what he knows is right for

himself, and, in doing that
he might win or lose friends.
He admitted that if, in the
process, friends are gained,
that is great, but if they are
not gained, then “to hell with
them.” That comment of his
has caused a lot of dis-
cussion.What do you think?
