Thursday morning the initials stood for Save Our Synthesizer when the band found it had beén a victim of theft. Later the band received information that a friend of the person who took the instrument wanted to return it without the police becoming involved. It was expected back Friday but didn’t get delivered. Then, according to SOS manager Teny Rovivar, when the band was prac- tising Friday and took a break, they returned to find. the missing synthesizer had - returned just as mysteriously Car fire closes bridge LIONS GATE Bridge became blocked to traffic Saturday evening when a car burst into flames as the result of a four-car collision. A car which left the scene of the accident braked suddenly in the northbound ceatre lanc, causing a 1967 Mustang to slam into the rear of it. A third car hit the rear of the Mustang and a fourth vehicle did the same to the third. Fire broke out in the trunk area of the Mustang and the Department of Highways bridge patrol used a dry chemical fire oxtinguisher on the blaze while the fire department was arriving. West Van firefighters used 200 gallons of water putting out the fire and also used crowbars and cargo hooks. The fire crew was on the scene for 45 minutes.
