Dr. Ernie Lavorini’s patients
like to smile a lot after
visiting him - to show off
their tattooed teeth.

Lavorini, 32, who believes
“every dentist is a comedian
at heart,” got the idea for
painting designs on por-
celain caps when one of his
patients, ‘‘a carefree
character”, asked him to put
a star on his.tooth.

Capping a crown with a
design “takes the sting out of
paying the bill,” Lavorini
said. “At least got something
different to show your
friends.”

Some 400, or 10 per cent
of his patients thus far have
