And a new SeaBus doesn’t come cheap: a Burrard Muskrat or Sea Lion would cost about $15 million, plus maintenance and operating costs. But some people, including SeaBus master Capt. Greg Freedman, have raised alarming concerns about the safety of the aging vessels. Do we have to wait until the Beaver really bites it?
