art into a small-business venture.

Zatatnai’s whimsical illustra-
tions depict scenes trom Carmen,
Madawin Butterfly, La Favela
D'Orfea and, Saatkamp’s personal
favourite, Mozart's Magic Flute.

The pillows sell for bers
$80 and S85. Each one is hand-
painted. To keep prices reason-
able, Saatkamp is selling the pil-
lows direct trom her home studio.

The intericr designer is also
marketing her own line of “jewel
cushions,” as well as throws, bol-
sters and table runr Also
inspired by her love of opera, the
cushions carry names like Traviata,
Carmen and Falstaff. These sell for
berween $30 and S100. Each
cushion his its own personality.
