HOME & GARDEN North Vancouver City heritage homeowners meet Photo submitted THE CITY of North Vancouver recently held a Heritage Home- owners workshop in which participants were given advice on how to successfully upgrade heritage buildings. A highlight of the workshop was a presentation on the rehabilitation of the home at 2144 Mahon which was recently upgraded by the owners, Bob and Donna Cairns. ON OCT. 20, a Heritage Homeowners Workshop was held as part of the City of North Vancouver's ongoing Heritage Program. This workshop was sponsored in conjunction with the Provincial Community Pride Program. Com- munity Pride operates by contract to the B.C. Heritage Trust. Ai owners of inventoried heritage buildings were invited to participate. A specially trained team of experts working in heritage conservation were assembled by Community Pride for this event, which included Robert femon, Stuart Stark and Joel Latker. The purpose of the workshop was to provide ad- vice on how to successfully upgrade heritage build- ings following accepted principles of heritage conser- Friday. Guidance on v.iere to find approximate materials and competent workers was also covered. Approxi- mately 30 people attended the workshop and found the sessions to be most informative.
