The group, which had been invited to the city by council, included ted ral government chief negotiator Tom Mate “CG. tead counsel Boris zuk, Nisga’a Tribal Council resource negotiator Harry Nyce, Federal reaty Office consultant adviser Jocoph Whiteside and Nisga’a president emeritus Frank Calder. “The Nisgaa can enjoy the same rights and benetits thar other Canadians have,” Molloy told the audience. “Phis (treaty) sets out how federal and provincial laws apply to the Nisga‘a and their lands.” Under the treaty, Nisga’a lends will total approximately 2,000 sq./km, which is about 500 times Uie size of Stanley Park or the equivalent of approsimately 245 acres for cach of the 2,000 on-reserve Nisga’a, Of that total, Tyzuk said “1,930 sq/km derives from B.C.
