who fad just told police they were
not involved in a stolen Mercedes
incident.

The pair were seen walking on
12th Street near St. Andrews
Avenge at about 3:30 pan. The man
and woman were stopped close to
where the Mercedes had: narrowly
missed colliding with a police car
near 12th Street and Ridgeway
Avene, according to a) North
Vancouver ROMP spokesman.

The car was abandoned ina lane
after fleeing the near-crash.

Police contained =the area
around the car and brought in a
police dog.

Police said the pair denied uny
wrongdoing, but were detained
momentarily, During that time the
police dog tracked direetly to them,
according to police.

Another man was later arrested
in conneeiion with the driving inci-
dent. The two men were charged
with theft and possession of stolen
property. They are under age 18
and cannot be named as stipulated
by the Young Offenders Act. The
Merecdes was returned to its owner
with “minimal damage.” claim
police.
