North Vancouver District Fire Department Deputy Chief Moe Conway said a drop in pressure and a shortage of water caused serious concerns for his depart- ment. The district fire department was not called in to respond to major fires on Sunday. North Vancouver City Deputy Fire Chief Frank LeGros said the city has a healthy supply of water. A spokesman for the West Vancouver Fire Department said it has not experienced any recent problems with water shortages. But the (GVRD) reported this week that another water consump- tion record was set in the Greater Vancouver region on July 30 when abe eee more than two billion litres of water was delivered by the GVRD in a 24-hour period. The record figure was 2,002,500,000 litres, or about 1,500 litres for every person serv- ed by the GVRD system.
