That's probably because many elementary schools in the Lower Mainland are now adding a fourth ‘r’, recycling, to the old three ‘r’s of reading, writing and arithmetic. - Their first step was to book the J Recycle workshop for their stu- dents and staff. By participating in the J Recycle workshop students are learning they can help save our natural resources and reduce our garbage disposal problems. This workshop is sponsored by the Greater Vancouver Regional District and is available, free of charge, to all elementary schools in the Lower Mainland. Its intent is to educate students on the impor- tance of recycling in a fun, creative way and to help them realize that they can play a part in waste reduction. The GVRD promotes recycling as a key element of its solid waste management plan. For more in- formation on the I Recycle workshop call 432-6202. For recycling information call the GVRD Recycle Hotline at 736-8636. younger people are at higher risk of becoming infected because they are not modifying their behavior as much as older people are,’ said Dr. Martin Schechter, principal investigator of the Vancouver Lymphadenopathy-AIDS Study at UBC. “When education programs are implemented, that group needs higher targeting.” The UBC research team will 299 from the Na- and Research Development Program, the research arm of Health and Welfare Canada.
