AMIDST ALL the confusion

surrounding the proposed new

RRSP rules, some important changes to the Canada Pen-

sion Plan have attracted little

Quite simply, you can now take
your Canada Pension as carly as
age 60. Alternatively, you may
defer taking your pension unt age
70. These are not just proposals.
They were passed by Parliament
on June 26, 1986 and will come in-
to effect January 1, 1987.

The amount of the pension will
be adjusted depending on the
retirement date you select.
Although the factor to be used is
not specified, it is expected that an

normal amount. At age 70 the
