CONTROVERSY erupted
over a bylaw that isn't even
on the books at North
Vancouver District council
Monday night.:

Some council members
slammed a proposed 20 foot
height restriction for new
commercial buildings as
being too genera} and far-
reaching, while another
defended the suggested
bylaw as the District's only
weapon with which to
control development

The bylaw was suggested
several weeks ago but hasn't

say to that,” said Alderman
Peter Powell. “Bah, hum-
bug!”

Director of Finance,” by
requiring him to decide
which late payers would be

penalty.

wrong people won't get
