parade to date kicks off the

celebrations this Saturday,

Up to the last weekend
there were 56 entries, an all-
time record, said parade.

bands, led by the West Van

‘Band which this year marks

its SOth anniversary.

A new musical entry this
year. is the -West Van
Elementary. School... Band
with both beginner and
intermediate groups.

Among other entries are
eight West Van schools and
three neighborhood floats —
the King’s Avenue Clown

Troupe, the 2800- Block
Bellevue Bunch’ and the
Republic of Upper ‘Dun-
darave.

The “warm up” for the
parade — which. starts from
Ambleside Park to the
Recreation Centre at 11. a.m.
— -will again be the ever

Vancouver Police Motor-
cycle Drill Team.
