Ample proof of the region’s growing attraction is the ever increasing interest shown in the Cariboo Cross Country Marathon. This is. a major cross country ski event now, and annually attracts skiers from all over Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. First started in 1974 under the banner of the 108 Ranch, there were sixty entries that first year. Now sponsored by the South Cariboo Cross Country Ski Society the event is expected to attract well over a thousand entries this year.
