WV seniors rec fees to rise

THE minimum age and
cast of being a senior
citizen in West
Vancouver just went up.

On Monday, after an
approximate eight-month
Process, West Vancouver coun:
cil decided to raise the quality-
ing age minimum for a seniors’
recreation fee trom 60 to 65,

In addition to the age
increase, seniors 65 or older
will qualify for a 20% discount
on standard adult reereation
rates.

Those under the age of 65
will have to pay full ad! rates
at the aquatic centre, ‘kating
rink and community centres.

The changes will rake place
on April 1, 1999, Anyone age

expires. Renewal will be based
on the new rates. No price
phase-in, or “grandfathering”
