seventh and final
model year before
being completely
redesigned.

A slighdly larger, becter-
equipped all-new model will
arrive lacer this vear, barring
delays.
The new model will con-
tinue to be rear-wheel-dri-
ven with an inline six-cvlin-
der vather than a V6.
BMW owners preter the
smoothness, low-end torque
and “long-legged” feel of an
inline six-cylinder engine
despite the fact thar these
engines are not as space-sav-
img as today's compact V6s.
In the meantime, BALW
has added a new model, the
323is, to the current 3-
Series lineup, and made
more features standard
equipment on most 3-Series
models.
The new 323is, which

able as a two-door coupe or
two-door convertible, and
