A North Vancouver
woman whose son is
charged with an execu-
tion-style murder
insists police found
nothing illegal in her
apartment in October.

Farkhondeh Nicou was
named in a police search war-
rant on Oct. 24.

Police wanted to search
Nicou’s apartment suite in a
highrise at Capilano Road and
Marine Drive for gun parts.

Said Nicou on Wednesday:
“When we have no problem
and the search be OK, why
you put it in the newspaper?
The result is everything is OK.
The result is no problem.”

North Vancouver RCMP
Const. Tom Seaman said,
“We cannot comment on the
results of the search warrant as

Nicou’s son, Michael
Caster, 19, and Jon Moroury,
18, are charged with the
planned shooting and murder
of Mohammad Mirhadi in a
packed Lower Lonsdale movie
theatre on Feb. 28. Mirhadi
was killed with a 9 mm hand-
gun.

The accused men are in
custody awaiting a_prelimi-
nary hearing set for February.
Caster lived with his mother
and sister in the Marine Drive
apartment before his arrest on
Sepr. 13.

Police found a fully loaded
Mauser-Werve —.32-calibre
handgun in a locked compart-
ment of Caster’s Kawasaki
motorcycle after his arrest .

About six weeks later,

police obtained a search war-

rant to go into Nicou’s apart-
ment after two assault rifles
were found in a bag in storage
locker in the vicinity of
Nicou’s storage locker.

The rifles, civilian versions

of an AK-47 and a M-16, had
obliterated serial numbers.

Police also found shotgun
parts in different areas of the
storage locker rooms in the
highrise. Police believe Nicou
cleaned out three storage
lockers at about the same the
time the gun parts were dis-
covered in the storage area.

Police asked to search
Nicou’s apartment for guns,
gun parts, ammunition or gun
certificates.

of the peace in North
Vancouver, who refused the
search warrant request
because “direct knowledge of
a specific firearm or part of a
firearm that was in the apart-
ment was required.” On the
third try, with more informa-
tion available, the search war-
rant was granted to police.

Meanwhile said Nicon,
“You have to come to court
and answer to me. Why you
put in the newspaper? ... I sue
you. I sue North Shore
News.”
