For improved grip and braking,
big 225/60 R16 inch radials and
four wheel disc brakes with ABS are
standard on the Continental. All-
speed traction control is available.

Being a big, front-wheel-drive
luxury car means that handling is
not the Continental's forte. There is
a considerable amount of Jean and
pitch when negotiating twisty roads
even in the Firm mode, and the vari-
able-assist steering feels rather
numb whatever mode it's in.

In addition to menu selections
for ride and steering, the
Continental's dashboard computer

_ can remember settings for radio sta-
tions, seat positions, mirror posi-
tions, instrument lighting intensity
and interior lamp delay times. The
system can also turn some features
on or off, such as automatic door
locking after the car gets under way.
