The annual Beer Belly Splash at
the Coach House Inn (700 Liltooet
Rd., North Vancouver) flops into
town tomorrow, Saturday, Sept.
23. The preliminary round
‘splashes off at noon, with the
finals sct for 3:30 p.m. Neighbor-
hood pub teams of four (Iwo men;
two women) will compete, with
‘one team member doing the flop-
ping while the other three offer
encouragement.. The preliminary
round will be judged on board
approach, height of jump, forma-
_ tion, water entrance, splash height
\vand style. Final round competition
will be judged on costumes, teain
presentation, best mid-air pose,
form and splash. Included: in the
events will be stand-up. come-
-dians, a live country and western
band and other fun activities.

A well-dressed man in his 40s fled
after an incident carlicr this year
at a western wear store in Ornaha,
Nebraska. According to a clerk,
the man asked for a horse harness
for a costume party and went into
a dressing room to put it on. He
emerged a short time later, fing-
ing the door open and running
around the storc wearing only his
undershorts and the harness. After
a few minutes, he quietly changed
back into his business suit, told
the clerk he would be back with
‘his wife to buy the harness, and
left. ; :

Two California physicians, co-
authoring an article in the March,
1993 issue of the Journal. of
Forensic Scietices, reported on the
deaths of two men who suffered
mishaps while suspended naked on
construction vehicles’ hydraulic
shovels. The doctors reported both
men were attempting to heighten
sexual gratification, but that one
went a littic too far and asphyxi-
ated, and the other was fatally
pinned to the ground by — the
shovel while dressed in women’s
clothing.
