Racism (so-called) asked the
Governur General of Canada and

it was, my subversive thoughts

Why I got the award I don't
know. Maybe they got me mixed
up with some other Collins.

As the year progressed, Gill and
Co. held press conferences, bawled,
wept, and sweated righteous rage.
They even tried to get Vancouver
City Council to join their throng but
had no luck there, either.

- So at this writing 1 still have the
medal. .

Actually, the one who started

. the process was Lionel Kenner of

North ‘Vancouver, so let’s thank
him, too, He’s:a “doctor” who who
can cure no pain.

Socialist councillor Bill Bell
rose to say that Bill 33 would fix
the likes of me, all right. There
speaks NDP democracy. I'm glad I
rang your bell, Bell.

But the biggest bang came from
the homos. I had written a column
headed “Coming out in the media,”
4 treatise on how pansies have
infested The Vancouver Sun, the
CBC, the Globe & Mail, etc,, and
how we are getting propaganda
fram the Temple of Sodom.

Attempts were made to shut
down the North Shore News.

Threats galore, Phones were tied
up. Petitions were circulated.
Advertisers were harassed.
Complaints went to the Press
Council. Alas, the council refused
to hear them,

Thanks to a publisher who is not
easily intimidated, the column con-
tinued.

Oh, [ nearly forgot. There was
also a skirmish with Multicult Mair,
the turban lover on CKNW who
likes nothing better than his own
voice.

tam not Mister Multicult’s
favorite person. He regularly
attacks me, but doesn’t have the
spine to.face.me in the studio.

A caller asked him why he
didn’t have me on and he piously
remarked that he would have noth-
ing to do with racists and bigots,
ending up with the observation that
“anyway, Collins was fired from

his last job (on CJOR) for incompe-

tence,”

“Paul St. Pierre’ s rosy view

original statement was pure fiction
and he knew it was, He let his
tongue run away with his brain,

Today, of course, he’s riding high.
Which is not hard when you have
the only talk show in town. But in
those days he was battling
Bannister.

Well, there it is. Another excit-
ing years and hurrah for 1994, ‘
