Imagine how much it hurts when you get physically abused. If you get hurt by your own family, how can you ever trust anyone else? I think that if people get physi- cally, sexually. or mentally abused while they are young, they will never have the confidence they might have once had. I met a guy who had been living away from his parents ever since he was very young. At first he moved away from his father because his father was sexually abusing him. When he moved in with his mom, she started drinking and beating him up because she couldn’t handle the stress of everyday life. Then it got worse and worse every day and he ended up in the hospital. After that he began liv- ing in foster homes.
