Coalition of the Disabled (BCCD) is holding a silent Art Auction at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. Approximately 100 artists, including Toni Onley, Paul Wong, Marion Penner Bancroft, Ted Harrison and Sara Diamond are contributing pieces representi- ng a range of media — from video to painting to sculpture, Work of established artists will be alongside that of - up-and-coming B.C. artists. Native art will also be featured, as well as pieces by disabled artists. The auction weekend will begin at 8 p.m. Friday June 12 at Emily Carr with food, drink and live entertainment. The artwork will be open for viewing Saturday and Sunday. A pre-auction brunch, featur- ing guest speakers, will be held at Jonathan’s ‘Seafood House Sunday. Tickets are $50 each, $30 of which i is tax-deductibie. The silent auction, with live music, will be on Sun- day from 1 to 4 p.m. Funds raised th. ough the auction and brunch will go toward the BCCD Moving into the Marketplace awareness campaign. The main themes of this cam- paign are transportation, accessibility and recreation and recognition of disabled persons as consumers.
