Opening up a whole

OVER 5,500 people living on the North Shore are
under-educated, with less than their grade six, ac-
cording to a 1981 survey taken by Canada Cen-
sus, says Barbara McBride, co-ordinator for
SecondStart, a home-tutoring program teaching
adults to read and write.
