THEIR FUTURE

While they're not officially
members of the Vancouver
Whitecaps, a couple of
young North Shore soccer
players are working out with
the reserve team and looking
forward to what might tum
into a pro career in the
sport.

Doug Jensen and Greg
Borrie, both draft picks of
the Whitecaps at recent
NASL amateur draft will
work out with the club over
the next six months giving
officials of the team an
opportunity to assess their
performance before the end

Cottrel

A NINE game undefeated
streak came to an end for
Larry's Sports Shop last
week in North Vancouver
Intermediate Recreational
hockey action last week.

Cottrell Forwarding
defeated the league-leaders

of the school year when it
will be decided what future
the youngsters have with the
club.

No formal agreement can
take place between the
drafted players and the team
unti) the end of the school
year.

Whiie Jensen, a student at
Sutherland and Borrie from
Carson Graham, both look
towards a future with the
Caps, Jim Easton, another
Sutherland player, looks
somewhat further afield at
the present time.

4-3, getting two quick goals
before Larry's could find the
net.

Dan Keeler, Ed O'Leary,
Don Campbell and Dennis
Belanger scored for Cottrell
while Paul Sinclair, Ken
Williams and Glen Stewart
countered for Larry’s.

Easton, the first ever coach
of the Vancouver

club following
completion of his school
year.

All three North Shore
draft picks were also
members of the North Shore
secondary school all-star
team this past season.

Both Jensen and Easton
also play for Lynn Valley
Falcons while Borrie is a
member of the Burdett
soccer club.

Cottrell is now only three
poimts behind Larry's in the
standings, with only three
games to go in the regular
season.

In other intermediate
hockey action, the
Canadians defeated the
North Shore News 7-4 with
