Dear Editor:

My boviriend and TP have
been searching tar accom
modation tor three months
now, Although we've viewed
a number of places thar we
would not choose to hive in
even if they were tree, our
main stumbling block has
been the refusal of landlords
to allow pets. In our case,
cats,

Interestingly though,
we've spoken to two land
lords who say that onee they
started to allow pets they
found that they ended up with a better quality tenant — wen:
erally quieter and more responsible.

Perhaps some other landlords would be willing to change
their policy.

Tt seems thar approximately 80% to 90% of advertised
accommodation states N/P tne pets) in our chosen area of
North Vancouver.

Unfortunately, those landlords are missing out on renting
to two very responsible, quiet, ean individuals who are will-
Ing tu pay a decent price for a decent home.

My bovtriend recently moved here from Raimioops atter
more than three vears in the same apartment with his cats.
When he moved the landlord said that in was one of the
cleanest suites he'd ever seen!

IP know that we're not the only ones in this predicament.
In the meantime. my mother’s kindness allows us to stay a
her house while we search. We're very fortunate and we're
keeping our blood pressure low -— one of the many benetits
of pet ownership!
