MAY 11: The NorWesters Track
and Field Club is hosting an
elementary schools track and field
meet at Swangard Stadium. The
meet is open to all athletes from
the North Shore, Burnaby and
Vancouver. Parents may enter
athletes if they are not included as
part of a school team. Entry
forms have been distributed in all
North Shore schools. For infor-

MAY 12: The annual North Van-
couver RCMP fun run includes a
10-kijometre run or a_ three-
kilometre walk. A benefit for
Crime Stoppers, entry fee costs
$15 or $20 on race day. For in-

MAY 20: The secorid annual
North Shore Spring Triathlon will
be held at recCentre Ron An-
drews. Sponsored by the North
Shere News and Westview Cycle,
this short-course triathlon includes
a 750-metre pool swim, an 18-
kilometre cycle and a five-
kilometre run. To register or for
information on workshops leading
up to the triathlon, call Trish

five track and field athletes for
the B.c. Summer Games (July
25-28 in Coquitlam) will be held
at West Vancouver Secondary on

SUNE 22-23: The 24-Hour Relay
kicks off at Swangard Stadium to
raise money for the B.C. Lions
Society for Crippled Children.
Teams of 20 people will run relay
style around the 2.5-mile course.

playing on a ladies only Senior B

This ladies’ team is trying to get
enough players for additional
teams (there are currently two) in
order to eventually form a league
on the North Shore.
