SPORTS & PIZZA... What do professional hockey players do during the summer? Jeff Sharples maker LITTLE CAESARS" PIZZA! Little Caesars began in Detroit in 1959 with Michael and Marion Ilitch and it was so suc- cessful that they bought the Detroit Red Wings hockey club, the Detroit Drive arena football team, and most recently, the Detroit Tigers baseball team. Having piayed three years with the Red Wings, Jeff Sharples became interested in Little Caesars (he could always be found eating Little Caesars Pizza in the press room at the arena). Since Jeff was, and stil! is playing pro hockey, operating a Little Caesars Pizza franchise seemed impossible. Not wanting to pass up the excellent opportunity, he and his wife Michelle proposed the idea to Allen Robison and together they brought Little Caesars Pizza to the North Shore. During the 90-91 hockey season Allen put together the first store in Lynn Valley (1254 Lynn Valley Rd.) which opened in March of 91. Shortly after Jeff and Michelle joined Allen and together they opened their second store in December 91 at Parkgate Village (3662 Mt. Seymour Parkway). a PICNIC” WINNERS - Filled picnic baskets were given to two . lucky winners this = summer, one of the many in-store promo- | - ‘tions that Little Caesars has.
