Joyce said that while the GVRD
is committed to the running and
maintenance of the demonstration
forest, the speed with which the
area develops will depend on funds
from other sources and the overall
response from the public.

B.C. currently has cnly two
areas that combine similar en-
vironmental-educational concepts:
an 80-nectare public demonstration
area at the UBC research forest
and a small site in Duncan on
Vancouver Island.

Approximately 40 volunteers
will telp man information and
display booths and perform such
oOpening-day activities as face
painting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

GVRD_ volunteer coordinator
Trish Prokop said Tuesday she still
needs about 25 volunteers.

TOOL AND DIE TECHNICIAN is a two-year, full time cer-
tificate program which combines four terms of hands-on
instruction with two work experience sessions.

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE MECHANIC is a full-time,
17-month program which combines three terms on cam-
pus with two work experience sessions.

Both programs begin September 8th at BCIT, 3700 Will-
ingdon Avenue, Burnaby.
