In 1969 Etter left his posi-
tion as principal violist. of
the Royal Philharmonic Or-
chestra, moving to Van-
couver to join the Purcell
Quariet. Since 1972 he has
devoted his career to the
Purcell Quartet.

Etter is also principal
violist with the CBC Van-
couver Chamber Orchestra.
