are some of the renovations
slated for the North Van-
couver SPCA within the next
two months.

A recent budget allotment
of $20,000 from North Van-
couver District will pay for
the bulk of the renovations,
expected to be completed by
the end of May.

Mayor Marilyn Baker said
the decision to approve the
renovations resulted from
recommendations of the
joint City and District com-
mittee struck last year to
study conditions at the
shelter. She said the $20,000
was deemed the ‘‘ap-
propriate expenditure’ to
give the SPCA a brighter
and cleaner atmosphere. /

North Vancouver District
owns and pays for the capi-
tal expenditures of; the
pound while the City shares
in the rental formula of the
facility. A percentage of the
rental funds is put towards
the capital costs of refur-
bishing and improvements.
