But there are not many schools with a jazz program like Carson Graham's. Though the school had no such program when Karr arrived 13 years ago, he and his colleagues Peter Taylor (also director of the VCC Jazz Choir) and Brian Fairholm (who writes much of the jazz band’s music), have built an outstanding jazz program, encompassing two bands and a yazz choir.
