College held an in-
formation night this
week. for women
contemplating a return
to school.

Women's
(NSWC)

The information night on
Tuesday was planned by
Marsha Trew, co-ordinator
of the Women’s Resource
Centre, and it was followed
by a social evening with the
women from the NSWC.

Various speakers from the
college talked to the women
about the resource centre,
the college and about going
back to school for women.
Written material on courses,
study aids, and financial
problems was provided.

Nerys Blown, NSWC
president, also spoke, in-
viting any interested
volunteers to drop in at the
centre, Highlands United
Church, 3255 Edgemont
Blvd., between 12 and 3
p-m. next Saturday (Sep-
tember 26).

Another speaker was
Donna Whitely of Single
Mothers United for Change,
who asked single parents and
other social assistance
recipients to call her
regarding recent provincial
policy changes. These
changes affect the eligibility
for social assistance of
mothers of one child over
the age of six months as well
as people between 50 and 60
seeking employment, said
Whitely.

will be held the first Tuesday
of every month, at the Park
and Tilford Meeting Room.

to give women experience in -
exercising their interests and
talents, and a closer look at
the work they might be
considering.

Shore Women's Centre was
formed six years ago by a
group of women attending a ,
