Suzanne Harlow, a graduate
of Vancouver Vocational
Institute’s hairdressing
program, recently received
the Lieutenant-Governor’'s
silver medal in recognition
of her excellent educational
achievement if ‘a post-
secondary level vocational
program. She is the second
vocational graduate of
Vancouver Community
College to win the award,
initiated last year by
Lieutenant-Governor Henry
Bell-Irving.

Suzanne originally
enrolled at the Emily Carr
College of Art, which until
recently shared quarters
with Vancouver Vocational
Institute. She passed by
VVI's_ hairdressing depart-
ment on her way to classes at
the art school. Her interest
in design drew her to
demonstrations of hair-
cutting techniques at the
department's salon and soon
she made the switch to hair-
dressing, graduating in
February of this year.
