Peppi's (henceforth the Beach House,

at Dundarave Pier) hosted the
restaurant’s official reopening party.

Clocking in at more than a shade
over $500,000, the month-long
refurbishment of the 1912 heritage
house has laid to final rest its Peppi’s
legacy, which has provided diners
with many dining peaks and valleys —
over the past 27 years, and repiaced ©
it with a contemporary beach-front
locale of much elegance and
warmth,

It also has ushered in a new era
of food at the foot of 25th.

But before we barge our way to
the hors-d'oeuvre table through the

- throng of West Vancouver glitterati,

a quick tour of said refurbishments.
The restaurant’s previously clut-
tered entrance foyer has been
opened up to afford arriving guests a
welcoming visual sweep of the din-

beyond.

A rich maple and cherrywood bar
now occupies centre stage, and,
installed in the restaurant’s east wall,
is a cheery gas fireplace. New sub-
dued interior lighting and a color
scheme of blues, greens and sand

almost entirely rebuilt, its predeces-
sor presenting a major speed bump.
