Angeles reminded B.C. residents

that the southern coastal areaof the

province is overdue fora major
quake.

For those who wish to volunteer
as part of the North Shore
Emergency Social Services organi-
zation, a-volunteer orientation sem-
inar will be given Feb. 12. at
Carson Graham secondary school,
9 tum. to 4 p.m. Call 987-3086 to

do to be prepared on the home
front? ;

Do you have adequate first aid.
food, water and basic survival
equipment to look after all of your
family’s needs for 72 hours or
longer? What about essentiat med-
ications? Remember, you may not
have access to a pharmacy for
some time.
. Does the food that you have put
away for emergencies need prepa-
ration. such as heating. and boil-
ing? if so, do you have alternate
cooking facilities avaitable? Do
you have a supply of safe water?
