Sentinel principal Peter Lafaivre surprised Sunday and the class she was teaching when he walked in with a bouquet of flowers to an- nounce the news recently. Sunday, who holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Arts in education from the Univer- sity of B.C., has been involved with West Vancouver schools since 1970. Along with her present duties she teaches a university-level, ad- vanced placement art ccurse at Sentinel. *} feel thrilled to be given the award,’? Sunday told the News, “‘because there are so many others who might have received it.”’ The NAEA is made up of art educators throughout Canada and the U.S., as well as representatives from major art museums, depart- ments of education and arts coun- cils, and major universities and colleges in 67 countries.
