The charges were laid in connection with incidents alleged to: bave occurred between June 1973 and June 1986 in which two fe- mates were alleged to have been assaulted. RCMP steps up enforcement MEMBERS OF the Nesth Vancouver RCMP traffic section con- ducted a saturated enforcement campaign June 6 in North Van- couver that resulted in numerous teaffic violation charges. Between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. enforcement was conducted in high-accident volume intersections and streets favored by speeders. During the period, 371 drivers were stopped and charged for a variety of offences, including signal and stop sign infractions, im- proper lane changes, speeding and seat-beit infractions. The enforcement program began in April and will continue one or two days each month. Youth charged with mischief TWO 16-YEAR-OLD West Vancouver youths have been charged with mischief following the May 49 destruction of three picnic tables, a bench and an ornamental tree at John Lawson Park in ‘Wesi Vancouver. Police responded to a complaint of vandalism just after 11 p.m., and youths were observed running from the area. A police dog was brought to the scene. Police say the dog track- ‘ed three suspects and indicated that they had been in the park area. The three were stopped by West Vancouver Police on Marine Drive and subsequently arrested for mischief. A 29-YEAR-OLD North Van- couver man has been sentenced Monday to a jail term of two years less a day after he was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Lloyd Robert Johnson was orig- inally charged in connection with a May 15, 1988 collision between a pickup truck and a Chevrolet Chevelle at the intersection of Fern Street and Lillooet Road near Mount Seymour Parkway.
