Richmond club holds sale

RICHMOND GARDEN Club's
12th Annual Horticultural Show
and Sale will be held on Saturday,
Aug. 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. and
Sunday, Aug. Il, from 10 a. m. to
Sp.m.

The Mayor of Richmond, Greg
Halsey-Brandt, will officially open
the show at 2 p.m. on the Satur-
day.
The sale will feature flowers,
vegetables, plants, hanging
baskets, flower arrangements,

Power
Smart
gets new
member

POWER SMART Inc. recently
announced its 13th Canadian
member — New Brunswick
Power.

The provincial utility now
shares access to the Power Smart
energy efficiency programs along
with B.C. Hydro, Manitoba
Hydro, Saskatchewan Power,
Maritime Electric, Newfoundland
Power, Nova Scotia Power, Tran-
sAlta Utilities, West Kootenay
Power, Yukon Energy, Yukon
Electric, Alberta Power and Nor-
thiand Utilities (NWT).

Power Smart was launched over
two years ago by B.C. Hydro,
which developed the energy effi-
ciency programs at a cost of about
$15 million.

Power Smart Inc. president and
CEO Arthur Geikie says *‘We’re
very happy to welcome New
Brunswick Power as our newest
member. Their enthusiasm for our
goal of promoting energy efficien-
cy throughout Canada will be of
enormous value.

“‘Power Smart is very much a
team effort among the member-
ship. We incorporate expertise and
experience in fine tuning our pro-
grams constantly and each new
member helps us make Power
Smart an even more practical and
cost-effective solution.
