The Pipers completed an unbeaten season by shutting out L.V. Rogers of Nelson 9-0, Cen- tennial of Coquitlam 3-0, and Killarney of Vancouver 3-0 in their section games before exploding from a $-1 halftime tie to beat Vancouver Tech 4-1 in the semi- finals. Argyle, under head coach Steve Bruno and assistants Les Wilson and Graeme Slee, dominated the first half of the final but were brilliant defensively in the second half to preserve the win. The North Shore champions were led by midfielder Mike Dodd, who was selected the tournament’s most valuable player, plus three tourney first all-stars in forward- midfielders: Jack Wendt, who scored seven goals including both in the final, and Sipho Riopel, who tallied three; and midfielder Trevor Short. Forward Steve Lake of Carson Graham was also a first all-star. Argyle defender Trevor Whyte was picked as a second all-star.
