Johnston's For Better or For Worse column is syndicated in over 450 newspapers. The North Shore native's most recent book is called Keep the Home Fries Burning. She'll be at Readers Retreat Bookstore Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. celebrating the birth of two labors of love. On Oct. 8 the two hosted the grand opening party for the Ron Zalko Health Club at the Jnterna- tional Plaza. On Sept. 23, they celebrated the birth of their first child. Doryon Hilton Zalko was born at 7:37 a.m. in Vancouver’s Grace Hospital after a six-hour labor, “It was the best experience I've ever had,’’ Ron said Monday. The 7.1 Ib. baby boy was christened Doryon, Dana said, ““because I liked Dory."’ Ron, who described the labor, ao name “comes from the Tel Aviv Hilton, where he was conceived."’ Dana, 26, and Ron, 35, were married in 1980. Absorbed in launching — theiz fitness business in the early years of marriage, the Zalkos, according to Dana, had no time to consider having a family. “And I was only 20 then, but now, well, it just seemed like good liming.”’ Of the birth, Dana said, ‘It was the most touching moment I have experienced.
