Matthew, who has just completed grade 12 at Hillside Secondary, receives $250 as the top winner in the 1984 Diane Thompson Stu- dent Writing Awards for his submission ‘‘The Nuclear Arms Issue: No Nukes or More Nukes?”’ Another Hillside student Kathleen Buddle was one of 11 runners up with her entry ‘Teenagers in the 1980’s: No Will to Rebel?”’ Wendy Dennis, Maclean's In-Class Program Editor and Maclean’s Editor Kevin Doyle made the finat selections.
