ERNIE CRIST doesn't like

the committees to which

North Vancouver District

Mayor Don Bell has ap-
pointed him.

The alderman was the
only District council
member to vote against the
appointments to committees
made at Monday’s inaugural
meeting.

Crist told Beli he had
asked to be named to two
committees, but was ap-
pointed to neither.

He also said he was upset
that Bell didn't make
available to council
members a list of the
available committees so they
could choose which ones
they wanted.

mission and the Chamber of
Commerce.

Peter Powell will
represent the District on the
Greater Vancouver

Regional District, the Deep
Cove steering committee
and the émergency program
committee.

And Mayor Bell himself
will serve on the Deep Cove
committee and as an
alternate on some _ other
committees.

Stolen jeep recovered

FOUR COUNTS of breaking
and entering have been laid
against a Vancouver man
after police found him in a
stolen jeep last week.

Leslie Schentag, 27, of
No. 40, 936 Granville, was
charged in connection with
the theft of automobiles and
the theft of a 40 ft. sailboat
valued at $150,000.

Ambleside break-in charges laid

TWO MEN have been
charged with three counts of
break and enter and two
women have been charged
with possession of stolen
property over $200 in
connection with break-ins at
Ambleside shops last week.
