The name, silent killer, is
appropriate given that vou
can't see, smell or taste carbon
monoxide (CQO).
The gas is a byproduct of
burning fuel — from vour
car’s engine, or the furnace in
your honte, tor example. CO is
present, in small concentra-
tions, in most homes and is
harmless in those amounts.
However, if the gas is allowed
to accumulare, it can lead to
illness or even death
Symptoms of CO poison-
ing include headaches, a ight
forehead feeling, dizziness,
nausea, confusion, shortness of
breath, toss of muscle control
and watery and smardng eves.
