Friday, October 13 will be a lucky day
for two North Shore artists, when they
take home awards from North Shore
Arts Cormmission's FANS Night.

This year's recipients are composer Michael Conw:
Baker, a North Vancouver resident, and painter Daniel
Izzard of West Vancouver.

three shows per day, between noon and 4p.m.

directed by Richard Berg, After the awards presenta-
tion, the lobby will be swinging with Dal Richards anda
five-piece musical ensemble.

FANS (which stands for Fund for the Arts on the
North Shore) “wants to highlight the wealth of artistic
talent that we have right here on the North Shore,”
explains Lori Phillips, Director of Cuicural Services for
North Shore Arts Commission. “Often these people
are well known in their own realm, but not in their own
back yard. We want to give them that recognition right
here at home.”

“We're just chrilled that Cap Mall is so supportive of
arts and artists on the North Shore,” says Lori. This is
the third year that the mall has sponsored the event.

Each honoree receives an original sculpture by
North Shore sculptor Michael Binkley. The award is a
figure shown with her arms thrown in the air in
celebration.

Tickets for FANS Night are $35 and available
by calling the Centenzial Theatre box office
